Dosage Unknown-
Medications and Side Effect Risks
Generally, supplement manufacturers do not need to register their
products with
FDA nor get FDA approval before producing or selling
them.  Therefore, their safety and effectiveness are not regulated,
nor are their side effects.

Institutes of Health, which has fact sheets on many supplements,
and their possible side effects.

It is important to be aware of all of the medications you
take and their potential side effects and interactions.

Side effects are not limited to prescription medications:
over-the-counter and natural treatments can have side
effects, too, and both can interact with each other.

“Serious diseases warrant serious treatments”, and you
may decide that it is worth the side effects to take a
given treatment.
Still, you need to know the relative risks and benefits
(termed my medical professionals the “risk benefit ratio”)
so that you can decide whether or not you want to
continue a given treatment.  The more medications you
are on, the more likely you are to have problems with
interactions.  Of course, any medication changes need
to be discussed with your doctor as stopping or
changing any medication suddenly also has risks.

Simplify your medical regimen as much as possible. If
you’re about to start a new prescription, over-the-
counter, or herbal product, be sure to talk to your doctor
or pharmacist.
