Medications that Can Cause Constipation

Constipation:
Over the counter Medications:
- Tums or generic version
- Rolaids or generic version
- Medications containing Aluminum or Calcium to Settle the
Stomach
- Pepto-Bismol
- Mylanta
- Cold medicine like sudafed or generic pseudephedrine
- Some non-drowsy anti-allergy and sinus relief medications
- Some anti-depressants
Prescription Medications:
- Pain relievers (narcotics) such as codeine, percocet,
darvocet, demerol, ultram, vidodin, or the generic versions,
including oxycontin, oxycodone, hydroxycodone,
dextropopoxyphene
- Medications for high blood pressure especially the calcium
channel blockers (such as Calan, Verapamil and others in this
category)
- Medications that treat Parkinsons
- Medications that treat urinary incontinence (or dribbling)
- Medications for Osteoporosis like Fosamax
- Anti-Seizure (anti-epilepsy) medications
