Some of the Following Medications May Cause
Constipation:

Over the counter Medications:
  • Tums or generic version
  • Rolaids or generic version
  • Medications containing Aluminum or Calcium to Settle the
    Stomach
  • Pepto-Bismol
  • Mylanta
  • Cold medicine like sudafed or generic pseudephedrine
  • Some non-drowsy anti-allergy and sinus relief medications
  • Some anti-depressants



Prescription Medications:
  • Pain relievers (narcotics) such as codeine, percocet,
    darvocet, demerol, ultram, vidodin, or the generic versions,
    including oxycontin, oxycodone, hydroxycodone,
    dextropopoxyphene
  • Medications for high blood pressure especially the calcium
    channel blockers (such as Calan, Verapamil and others in this
    category)
  • Medications that treat Parkinsons
  • Medications that treat urinary incontinence (or dribbling)
  • Medications for Osteoporosis like Fosamax
  • Anti-Seizure (anti-epilepsy) medications
