Muscle strength is crucial to health, and it is possible to improve this in a number of
ways. One is via weight training. Weight-bearing exercises not only help to
maintain muscle strength, they build bone strength too. Bones react to bearing
weight load by gradually growing stronger & denser. Furthermore, weight and
strength exercises lower your percentage of body fat and adds muscle tissue, both
of which can help guard against heart disease. Weight training doesn’t mean that
you will “bulk up” like Mr. Universe or a Governor of California. Developing
exaggerated muscles isn’t a necessary or even desirable goal. However, being
stronger is a worthwhile, important goal.
Benefits of Weight Training:
- Metabolism improves to help maintain a healthy weight!
- Bones are strengthened, which helps fight osteoporosis.
- You are less prone to injury.
- You are able to do the things you want to do, better, for longer.
