Hear Me! Hearing as we Age
Vision and hearing are important senses to keep us engaged in social activities and mental
pursuits.  Taking care of our eyes and ears is important at every age.  Links below give more
specifics on disorders that can affect both vision and hearing.
To take care of your eyes:
  • Wear sunglasses that protect against UV radiation.
  • Take a multivitamin, (or Occuvite or the equivalent, containing the AREDS formula).

To take care of your ears:
  • Protect your ears against loud noises, including ambulances and jackhammers, by
    plugging your ears.
  • Use caution with aspirin at high doses, and some antibiotics such as gentamycin, which
can injure the nerve cells in the ear.
